“Let it be wonderful” she said “to shine as brightly as it can”
not all blisters and pain
there can still be a gentle
slow
coloration
like the flush of red wine
or the blushing of a love-struck cheek
Let it be new
Falling
in love
without asking questions
or checking that you’re right
or wrong
Allowing it to slow and quicken
without holding the reigns’ rough leather so tightly in calloused fists
a bass played way up brighter-than high
a flute blown so deep down low
Giant gravity-less steps land in craters as yet uncharted
“let it be wonderful, I will look after him” she said
